Orbit 3D Privacy Policy
- Orbit 3D has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your music, videos and pictures are processed on your phone. We never upload them, and we run no servers that receive data from the app.
- The Discover tab connects to third-party music services (Audius, Openverse and Jamendo) to show and stream music. They receive normal request data such as your IP address and what you search for.
Information stored on your device
The app keeps the following only on your device, in its private storage. None of it is sent to us:
- Your sound settings and the sound modes you create and name.
- Your theme choice (light, dark or system).
- Tracks you “like” in Discover (title, artist, artwork link and stream link).
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android Settings, deletes this information.
Your music, videos and pictures
With your permission, the app reads the audio and video files on your device so you can browse and play them with the 3D sound effect. When you use “Download in 3D” or “Create 3D video”, the app creates new files and saves them on your device (Music/Orbit 3D or Movies/Orbit 3D). Pictures for video artwork are chosen with Android’s photo picker, which gives the app access only to the picture you select. All of this processing happens on your device; the app does not upload these files.
Discover: online music from third parties
The Discover tab shows music from independent artists and Creative Commons music. To do this, the app connects directly to these services:
| Service | Used for | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Audius | Trending lists, search, streaming tracks and artwork | audius.co |
| Openverse (WordPress.org) | Searching Creative Commons music | wordpress.org |
| Jamendo | Streaming and downloading Creative Commons tracks | jamendo.com |
These connections are made only when you open Discover, search, or play an online track. Like any website, these services receive your IP address, basic device and request information, and the search terms you type, and they handle it under their own privacy policies. The app sends them no account, contact, location or advertising identifiers. If you don’t use Discover, the app doesn’t contact them.
Sharing
When you tap Share, Upload to YouTube or Share to Instagram, Android opens the app you choose and passes it the file or text you decided to share. From then on, that app’s privacy policy applies. Orbit 3D shares nothing without your action.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Music and audio | List and play the songs on your device. |
| Videos | List your videos and play their sound in 3D. Optional: you can still pick single videos without it. |
| Storage (Android 12 and older) | Read your media, and save 3D downloads on Android 9 and older. |
| Internet | The Discover tab (online music). |
| Foreground service, wake lock | Keep music playing in the background, with playback controls in the notification. |
Children
Orbit 3D is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Security and retention
We don’t collect or keep personal data on our side. Connections to the online music services use HTTPS, so they are encrypted in transit. Data stored on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Orbit 3D handles data, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
